Planning Board
– This seven-member Board meets every two weeks to
review residential and commercial projects as
presented to the Town of Wappinger for
consideration. The Board is served by a Planning
Board Secretary, the Town Attorney, the Town
Engineer, and a professional Planning Consultant.
Occasional site visits are scheduled for Board
members to view the proposal site.
Zoning Board of Appeals – This five-member
“quasi-judicial” Board considers variance
applications to the Town for projects that may not
practically be possible within the confines of the
Town Code. Occasional site visits are scheduled for
Board members to view the proposal site. The Board
is served by a ZBA Secretary and the Town Attorney.
Conservation Advisory Commission – The CAC
provides a vital role to the Town in ensuring the
integrity of our natural environment. Activities
include a monthly meeting, Town Roadside Cleanup,
and various other events designed to provide proper
stewardship of our natural resources.
Board of Assessment Review – This Board meets
annually for a training seminar, a day dedicated to
property assessment hearings (Grievance Day) and
follow-up administrative functions to provide a
legal appeal process for Town properties values.
Recreation Committee – This committee
provides oversight to the various Town recreational
activities and events, such as Community Day.
Committee formally meets monthly and regularly takes
part in various adjunct activities, such as sport
sign-ups, senior trips, and Holiday celebrations.
